Project and Programme Management for Development Practitioners

PSRT Centre is a consultancy resource and training body that provides continuous training, mentoring and capacity building for individuals and organizations concerned with public health and human development.  On 09 -11 April 2014, we offer an exciting course on Projects and Programme Management for Development Practitioners.

Introduction

To become a successful programme manager you must understand the contemporary aid and financing issues, which should make you aware of the context in which you operate. This essentially provides an opportunity for you to critically analyze the context in which your organisation operates and how best results from your programmes can be realized.

The Training Course

This course introduces you to essential and empirical approaches to PPM using a participatory learning approach that is focused on “must have” practical tools for use in managing programmes. The course uses an adult learning approach that seeks to build on the experiences of participants in managing projects and fusing these with technical approaches in the field. Learning will therefore include practical examples and case studies drawn from the course participants. This module will be offered over a 3-day period and will be customized to suit the needs of individuals under training.

Target Group

This course is applicable but not limited to individuals who are Project/Programme managers, coordinators, M&E practitioners and Development consultants. Applicants for this course are encouraged to have some professional work experience and background knowledge in projects or programmes related to development.
