Training & Data Management Coordinator (Consultant)

Job Description

PSRT Centre is seeking an experienced Training and Data Management Coordinator, supporting the Training and Capacity Building Unit of the organisation. The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of training, capacity building and data management related tasks, and must be able to work independently with little or no supervision. This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible and enjoy the capacity building challenges of supporting diverse people and programs.

The ability to interact with associate consultants, partners and staff (at all levels) in a fast paced environment, often under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial to this role. Expert level written and verbal communication skills, internet research, strong decision making ability and attention to detail are equally important. Responsibilities for this position include the ability to play a leadership role with the management support team, to think and plan ahead and manage time effectively and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Training and Data Management Coordinator is responsible for the design, development, implementation, coordination, and facilitation of Training and Development programs. S/he will from time to time schedule and coordinate all training courses and capacity building programmes. This highly detailed and organized individual heavily utilizes Excel, PowerPoint, Word and various Statistical Packages in the completion of duties.

Duties may include:

  • Developing, Implementing, administering and maintaining a Training and Data Management System
  • Managing training materials stipulated by organizational regulations, plan, organize, and direct a wide range of training activities.
    • Provide logistical support, course development, delivery, evaluation, process measurements, and cost management.
    • Assist with the development of training and data management strategic plans.
    • Amending and revising programmes as necessary, in order to adapt to changes occurring in the industry;
    • Producing training materials for in-house courses;
    • Designing and expanding training and development programmes based on both the organisation's and the clients’ needs;
    • Having an understanding of e-learning techniques, and where relevant, being involved in the creation and/or delivery of e-learning packages
  • Develop multimedia visual aids and presentations.
  • Build solid cross-functional relationships, acting as an “ambassador” for PSRT Centre within and outside the Centre by creating an awareness of PSRT Centre programs and promoting data management and trainings services offered.

Requisite Skills

This position calls for flexibility, excellent professional spoken and written communication skills. The training and Data Management area is one of constant change. This position must be able to react positively to these developments and help lead the way forward to include new developments in training targeted to 
new and existing clients. The person must be detail oriented and have extensive word-processing, spreadsheets and presentation software skills, Data Management, Report Writing Skills, Time Management, Travel Logistics and Presentation skills. Extensive knowledge and ability of coordinating projects, training courses; seminars, workshops and event/conference are highly required. In addition, the person must have:

  • Understanding of e-learning techniques, and where relevant, being involved in the creation and/or delivery of e-learning packages;
  • Ability to:
    • Accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and change direction quickly as desired and meeting deadlines promptly.
    • Communicate daily with internal and external clients, prospects and partners, while exhibiting the highest degree of professionalism, courtesy and diplomacy
    • Ensure and maintain confidentiality of all appropriate communications and documentation
    • Communicate with executives, peers, the public, and others via all means of communication including telephone, email, Facebook, twitter, WhatsApp etc, written correspondence and in person.
    • Work independently, with minimal direction and efficiently resolve problems
    • Must be a team player
  • Leadership skills to effectively direct trainees while in a training session environment and ability to 
properly evaluate comprehension and application of subject material
  • Strong desire to be a part of a start-up/high growth company with an entrepreneurial spirit and a fast- paced, result-oriented culture.

Languages:

  • Must have professional level spoken and written English, Shona and Ndebele
  • Understanding of other local languages is desirable.

Academic and Professional Qualifications

The person should have:

  • Minimum of a Masters Degree in Organizational Development or Equivalent
  • Certificate in technical field such as Monitoring & Evaluation, Data Management and Reporting.
  • At least 5 years related experience in a training, data management and coordination support environment
  • Must have an understanding and appreciation of consultancy/Advisory work in the field of or towards humanitarian and development work
